Why people stop going

It was never the training. It was the deciding.

Three thoughts empty a gym faster than any workout ever could. AGUNA answers all three before you get to the door.

Thought one

"What am I even doing today?"

AGUNA opens straight to a plan with your name on it — today's focus, the exercises, the sets, the reps and the rest. No menus, no programme to build, no spreadsheet.

Thought two

"Someone's on my machine."

Tap once. The session reorders itself around whatever is free and brings the busy exercise back later. You never hover, wait or pretend to stretch.

Thought three

"Am I doing this wrong?"

Every exercise shows the actual movement and can talk you through it in your ear. Your sets are written down for you, and next week's weight is chosen from them.

01 · Home

It opens to a plan, not a menu.

Today's workout, today's meals, your streak and your steps — on one screen, with your name at the top. Nothing to configure before you can start.

02 · Focus

Train whatever you're here for.

Got 35 minutes and only the free weights? Pick a focus and AGUNA rebuilds the session around it — duration, difficulty and exercise count shown before you commit.

03 · The set

Your sets, written down for you.

It shows the movement, counts the set, and remembers what you lifted. Next week it hands you the number: same weight for one more rep, or a little heavier. That's the whole progression system, and you never open a calculator.

04 · Rest

It even catches its breath with you.

The rest timer starts itself the moment you finish a set, and tells you when to go again. No standing around wondering whether you've waited long enough.

05 · Food

It tells you what to eat — down to the recipe.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack, built to your calorie and protein targets, in the food you actually eat. Ingredients, prep steps and macros for every plate.

06 · Trackers

It checks in all day.

Water, steps, sleep and bodyweight in one place, with steps synced from Apple Health. Small honest numbers, no white coat.

07 · You

It knows it's you.

Your goals, your training days, your units and your region shape every plan it builds. Change any of it and tomorrow looks different.

The one everybody feels

Machine taken?
Tap once.

The single most common reason a session falls apart is that someone is on the thing you need next. Hovering feels awful, so most people just skip it — and skipping is what breaks a programme.

AGUNA moves the exercise later in the session instead of dropping it, pulls the next one forward, and keeps your progression intact. Try it — this is the real behaviour.

If the busy-gym feeling is the thing stopping you, read gymtimidation: what gym anxiety is and how to train through it.

Tap it. This is what happens after every set — shown sped up.

Rest

Nobody counts to two minutes honestly.

Rest is the part everyone guesses at, and guessing is why sets three and four collapse. AGUNA starts the clock for you the moment a set is logged, holds you there, and tells you when to go again — out loud, if you want it to.

Two full minutes is the floor here, and three on the heavy compounds. Most apps hand you forty-five seconds because it feels efficient; it just means set three is theatre. If you feel ready early, one tap skips ahead.

Then it hands you the next set, already filled in with the weight it expects you to lift.

Thirty seconds

A real session, start to finish.

No mockups and no actors — this is the app running. Watch it hand over one exercise, count the set, take the rest and move on.

Food

Meal plans in the food you actually eat.

Most fitness apps hand a Lagos gym-goer a kale smoothie. AGUNA builds the day out of your own kitchen — same calories, same protein, food you can buy on your street. Pick a region — or read how the Nigerian meal plan app builds a full day of jollof, beans and swallow around your protein target.

Premium credit

Most apps take your money.
AGUNA pays you back.

Every day you move, you earn AGUNA points — from your steps, capped so it stays honest. Points become credit against your subscription. Train consistently and the app starts paying for part of itself.

It is the only reward system in fitness that gets cheaper the more you actually show up.

Questions

Before you download.

Do I need to know anything about the gym to use AGUNA?
No — that's the whole point. AGUNA tells you which exercise to do, how many sets and reps, what weight to start with and how long to rest. Every exercise shows an illustration of the movement, and it can read the instructions aloud while you train, so you never have to look like you're reading a manual on the gym floor.
Is AGUNA free to try?
Your first full workout is free. Sign in with Apple and you get a complete guided session — illustrations, voice, set logging and rest timing — and only then decide whether to subscribe. No card is required to start, and there's no auto-renewing free trial to forget about.
How much does it cost?
$6.99 a week, or $69.99 a year — about $1.35 a week. Both unlock everything: workouts, progression, meal plans and trackers. Subscriptions are handled by Apple and you can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.
What happens when someone is on the machine I need?
Tap "Machine taken". AGUNA moves that exercise later in the session and brings the next one forward, so nothing is skipped and your progression is unaffected. It's the difference between a session that survives a busy gym and one that quietly gets abandoned.
Does it plan my food as well?
Yes. Every day comes with breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack built around your calorie and protein targets, with full ingredient lists, prep steps and macros. Meals are regional — fourteen kitchens: Nigerian, Ghanaian, British, European, Caribbean, Kenyan, Indian, Latin American, South African, South East Asian, Middle Eastern, Australian, Canadian and International — so the plan is food you already know how to buy and cook.
Which devices does it work on?
AGUNA is an iPhone and iPad app on the App Store, and it syncs your steps with Apple Health. There's no Android version yet.
Can I use it at home instead of a gym?
Yes. Choose a focus that matches the equipment you have and AGUNA builds the session around it. When something isn't available, the swap and reorder controls keep the workout moving rather than ending it.
Who is behind AGUNA?
AGUNA is built by AGUNA Wellness Ltd, an independent company. It was made by someone who found gyms intimidating and got tired of apps that assumed you already knew what you were doing. If you need us, write to hello@aguna.app — a person answers.
